Guides FAQ

A stream downloader saves playlist-based video (HLS, M3U8, DASH), not a single file from the address bar. HiDownload detects the playlist on Windows and downloads the segments.

Yes. Use the HLS Downloader or M3U8 Downloader guides. HLS is HTTP Live Streaming; M3U8 is the playlist file it uses.

If the page uses HLS, M3U8, or DASH and is not DRM-protected, HiDownload can detect the stream and save it. Site-specific pages are not required.

HiDownload is a Windows desktop app, not a browser paste-a-link tool. Online tools often fail on tokens, cookies, and split audio.

Play the video so the player requests media, then use the built-in sniffer. See How to Detect Streaming URLs. You usually will not find the playlist in the address bar.
